Amy Do is the Senior Investment Manager in JAFCO Asia Singapore office. Amy covers Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia across different sectors from seed to series B. Amy has long been in the venture capital industry. Prior to joining JAFCO in 2020, she worked for Expara Ventures in their Singapore office, focusing on seed and pre-series A investment.

In addition, Amy has experience running acceleration programmes and start-up consultancy services for large government institutions like A-Star. She has solid skills in market research and financial analysis in TMT and consumer industries. Amy earned her Bachelor Degree in Economics from University College London (UCL). 

Yoshihiro Katagami is in charge of business activity at JAFCO and his main role includes support for JAFCO Asia's companies, particularly those businesses relevant to IT infrastructure, software, security, cloud-based solutions and electronic devices/components.

Residing in Tokyo, he is responsible for accelerating JAFCO Asia's portfolio companies' entry into Japanese market and driving their business growth through a consultative and intensive sale approach by making the most of JAFCO Tokyo's extensive business network in Japan.

Prior to joining JAFCO, Katagami served as Head of Japan Office at NPCore Inc., one of the leading cybersecurity companies headquartered in Korea. Earlier in his career, he spent multiple years in the field of sales and marketing positions at multinational companies in the ICT industry such as Olivetti, Oki and Toppan Edge.

Katagami graduated from Rikkyo University in Japan and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Relations.

As Head of Finance and Administration, Lai Gueng is responsible for financial and tax accounting, planning, compliance and reporting for the management company of JAFCO Asia.

Lai Gueng was Manager in Ernst & Young Singapore before she joined JAFCO Asia in 2008. She had over 7 years of experience in audit and financial consulting as well as IPO and financial due diligence, serving listed and unlisted clients from different industries, including investment banks, brokerage securities and asset management, private banking, hedge funds, shipping, manufacturing, property development and trading companies.

Lai Gueng is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and also a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

Andrew is an Associate Director at JAFCO Asia and is responsible for investment activities in Taiwan. He focuses on Medical Device and Semiconductor industry. His investment experiences in Greater China helps him to evaluate and extract potential value from early and growth stage companies.

Before joining JAFCO Asia, Andrew was the Investment Manager in Hans Capital where he managed the equity investment in Greater China region. Prior to Hans Capital, he worked as one of early members in Maxpro and was responsible for healthcare industry investment and post-investment management included EirGenix, Polaris, Foresee and SyneuRx.

Edward serves as Managing Director, Head of Taiwan, and CEO of JAFCO Taiwan Capital—a wholly owned subsidiary of JAFCO Asia—where he has been a key member since 2010. In this capacity, he oversees all Taiwan-based investments, plays a pivotal role in deal-making, and has made significant contributions to fundraising for two JAFCO Taiwan funds.

Before joining JAFCO Asia, Edward was a key contributor at WANDL, Inc. (subsequently acquired by Juniper Networks), where he helped drive the success of the company’s network planning and management software. He then supervised venture capital fund investments within the finance division of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), followed by managing U.S. investment portfolios for Hotung International, a Singapore-listed investment firm.

Education
Edward holds an MBA and a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from Cornell University.

As a Director for JAFCO Asia, Ben’s technology focus is on mobile internet and cyber security. From his Shanghai office base, he sources and evaluates investment opportunities for JAFCO Asia investors. 

Ben is CICPA (Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants) certified and earned his Bachelor degree in economics from Xiamen University. He worked for an RMB fund for two years and for Ernst and Young for five years. This combination of training and experience gives him an in-depth understanding of business operations. Part of the JAFCO Asia team since 2011, Ben also leverages these resources to provide useful post-investment advice to investees.

Emma is a Senior Investment Manager at JAFCO Asia and is responsible for investment activities in Taiwan. She focuses on software, enterprise and consumer solutions, and consumer electronics industry. Her experiences in corporate venture capital helps her to evaluate and extract potential value from early-stage companies.

Before joining JAFCO Asia, Emma was the Investment Manager in HTC Corporation where she managed the start-ups investment in APAC region. Her portfolios created a record-high achievement in returns on investment. Prior to HTC, she worked in CenterLab for investment and post-investment management where she was a key contributor to the success from restructuring portfolios.

Emma earned her Bachelor Degree in Finance from National Taiwan University.

Kelly Lim joined JAFCO Asia in 2008. She advises on deal structure, and reviews and negotiates the legal documentation for investments in different countries.

Kelly’s experience as a private practitioner includes advising a wide range of clients in diverse industries, with focus on investment, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.

Kelly was a corporate lawyer in Singapore with Khattar Wong & Partners, Alban Tay Mahtani & de Silva, and Allen & Gledhill, before she joined Baker & McKenzie in Hong Kong. There, she was part of the team that represented Champion REIT’s manager for the first convertible bonds issue by a Hong Kong-listed REIT, which won the ‘Debt Market Deal of the Year’ award at the 2007 ALB Hong Kong Law Awards. On her return to Singapore, Kelly joined ST Telemedia as an in-house legal counsel before her move to JAFCO Asia.

Kelly received her LLB (Hons.) Degree in 2000 from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in 2001. Kelly is fluent in English and Mandarin.

With IT experience spanning legal, insurance and technology sectors, Andy Lim heads the IT department for JAFCO Asia. He is responsible for all the IT strategy of the company in the Asia Pacific region, as well as additional IT-related matters. Andy holds professional certificates as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), while he is also trained as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). 

Andy’s appointment as Head of IT for JAFCO Asia came in 2012. Prior to this, he gained considerable experience over a total of 12 years, working in the IT organisations of two prominent law firms - Harry Elias Partnership LLP and Rodyk & Davidson LLP. Andy’s IT experience in insurance and for an accounting software company is an additional resource for JAFCO Asia.

Weng Yun LUM joins JAFCO Asia in 2001 and now heads the legal department, supervising the legal advice given to the investment department. This covers deal structure, as well as the review and negotiation of legal documentation for investments in different countries. Weng Yun builds on extensive studies and practical legal experience. Her other work experience prior to joining JAFCO Asia includes more than 3 years as a corporate lawyer with the Corporate Department of Allen & Gledhill. Here she worked with a number of Singaporean and multinational clients. Her assignments included assisting a major investment bank with its private equity investment, secondment to an American bank, as well as projects for the firm’s China Desk that included a Beijing underground shopping arcade and a China power plant project.

Weng Yun received her LLB (Hons.) Degree in 1995 from the National of University of Singapore, Faculty of Law and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1996. She pursued postgraduate studies in London and received her LLM degree from University College London in 2000. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

As Head of China, Swee Ting is based in Shanghai and manages all China investment activities for JAFCO Asia. In particular, her areas of focus include Internet and mobile sector, consumption upgrade, B2B and medical IT services. Her investment portfolio includes SheIn, Lucid, Skyroam, Palfish, DaFangya, Tudou, Sungy Mobile, Madhouse, Medical System and R&B Technology Inc.

Prior to JAFCO Asia, Swee Ting was the core member for the SINA USA operation with P&L responsibilities. Her other operating experience includes product management at Yahoo! Inc. and consulting at Sapient Corporation.

Swee Ting earned her Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and her MBA degree from Harvard Business School.

With over 30 years of venture capital industry experience, Yoshiyuki Shibusawa is the President and CEO of JAFCO Asia. JAFCO Asia is a key group company of JAFCO Group Co., Ltd., Japan's largest venture capital company.

Yoshiyuki is a veteran of the JAFCO organization. After earning his Bachelor of Economics degree at Waseda University, Tokyo, he began his career with JAFCO Co., Ltd. with responsibilities for venture investments in different regions in Japan. Within a short 15 years’ time span , he became the General Manager and then the Corporate Officer with overall responsibility for all venture investments in Japan. On cases in which he was directly in charge, he has achieved more than 50 successful exits. Since Yoshiyuki's leadership and his relocation to Singapore in 2012, JAFCO Asia's investment quality has been grown from strength to strength.

Yoshiyuki earned his Bachelor of Economics degree at Waseda University.

Supriya Singh’s key focus areas are telecom, Internet and digital media. She serves on the Board of South Asia portfolio companies. She brings management consultancy experience and engineering knowledge. Her successful investment portfolio includes Medibuddy, Mobilewalla, Uable, AnyMind, Mistral, Mozat, Microland, Tessolve, Unmetric, etc.

She worked for A.T.Kearney and Accenture as a management consultant. Her project responsibilities included corporate growth/acquisition strategy, organizational restructuring and analytical/financial modelling.

Supriya earned her B. Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and MBA in Strategy and Finance from the Indian School of Business (ISB).

Shahan Sud is an Investment Manager at JAFCO Asia. He is responsible for co-building JAFCO Asia in India. He is managing end-to-end investments in the Indian geography and is responsible for JAFCO Asia's Investment in India, together with the South Asia team.

Prior to joining JAFCO Asia, he worked with Indian Angel Network (IAN) and Anand Rathi Advisors.

As a passionate trend analyst and columnist, he actively authors thought pieces on consumer trends, Indian economy and the start-up ecosystem. Some of his notable insights have been published in Business Standard, HT Mint, The Economic Times, CNBC TV18 and  VCCircle, among others. Melvin Teo is MD and CFO of JAFCO Asia and plays a significant role in the investment committee and the listed portfolio committee. His role also includes providing extensive operational, financial, tax, governance, structuring and formation expertise to the funds and the firm.

Prior to joining JAFCO Asia in 2002, Melvin was with Andersen Singapore providing assurance and financial consulting services where he earned his CFA Charter and CPA. One of the highlights of his career was his involvement in the financial review and restructuring of a dozen banks in Korea and Indonesia under the ambit of the IMF during the Asian Economic Crisis.

Melvin is a Singapore citizen and is actively involved in the community through various grassroots organisations in Singapore.

He earned his Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) degree from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Aishwary is an Investment Manager in the South Asia team. He is co-building JAFCO Asia in India and looks at Seed to Series-B stage investments across sectors. Prior to joining JAFCO Asia, Aishwary worked at WaterBridge Ventures where he was doing Seed and Series A stage investments.

Prior to his investing career, Aishwary was a part of the Healthcare consulting team at ZS Associates and he has also been an entrepreneur.

At JAFCO Asia, Aishwary seeks to partner with game changing entrepreneurs who think big and are ready to challenge the status quo.

Dr. Boshi Zhao is an Associate Director at JAFCO Asia. He is responsible for investment in new energy, new materials, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing and other fields.

Before joining JAFCO Asia in 2023, he was engaged in investment in new energy and new materials at the Summit View Capital. In addition, he was involved in the technological innovation and engineering construction in one of the world's largest energy companies. His research experience, energy industry background and investment experiences enables him to identify potentially valuable investment opportunities and help businesses grow.

Dr. Boshi Zhao holds a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University.

Alex is an Investment Manager at JAFCO Asia based in Beijing. He focuses on enterprise software, hardware, and consumer sectors.

Prior to joining JAFCO Asia in 2022, he has experiences in KKR and Primavera Capital in buyout and private equity field. He also has full-time experience in one of early-stage investment firm in United States. Before that, he has participated in start-up projects deeply. His various experiences from early to late-stage deals could create a different vision for investing.

Alex holds a master’s degree from The University of Chicago with data analytics major, and a BS computer science degree from The Pennsylvania State University.

As an Associate Director for JAFCO Asia, Oliver Zhou is based in Shanghai and focusing on healthcare. 

Prior to joining JAFCO Asia in 2022, he worked in the investment department of ByteDance and a healthcare fund over 6 years. He also has an early career experience in a known pharmaceutical company as a drug discovery researcher. His various experiences in industrial company and investment institutions provide help to the development of portfolio companies.

Oliver earned his Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

As a Director for JAFCO Asia, Richard Zhu is based in Beijing and covers a few dynamic areas including enterprise service, consumer and advanced manufacturing. Mr. Zhu has over 15 years of experience in cross border investments and modern enterprise management. Prior to joining JAFCO Asia in 2021, he worked with leading cleantech VC firms Tsing Capital and Puchao Capital. His early career experience includes P&L management responsibilities in Johnson & Johnson and Nestle.

Mr. Zhu holds a MBA degree from Harvard Business School in Boston, and a BA from University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.
